The practice car park will be open for members of the public to explore. Information from local organisations will be displayed. Where possible organisations will deploy representatives to engage with our patients.
14:10: Running/cycling/swimming workshop
We will be running small group workshops in the car park outlining how novices can take up one of these core sports. Running: Stephen Gallagher. Cycling: Hussain Al-Zubaidi. Swimming: Alia Fahmy
14:30: Taekwondo taster
Taekwondo master Ken Bloomfield will deliver a beginner lesson on this ancient Korean martial art
15:00: Yoga taster
Yoga master Marc Tran will talk about the benefits of Yoga for mental and physical health as well as taking us through a live yoga session
15:30: Salsa taster class
Dr Hussain Al-Zubaidi and Dr Shahnaz Hassan will deliver a basic Salsa lesson to showcase how dancing can be a fun way to stay fit as well as connecting with others.
15:30 Parkrun, Spa Striders, Leamington Ramblers Association, Nina Mortas (PT) & Newbold Comyn Leisure Centre arrive
Representatives from Parkrun, Spa Striders, LRA, Nina Mortas (Personal trainer) and NCLC will make shop in the car park and promote their activities/services to patients and members of the public.
15:45: Spa Striders Gentle jog
The Spa Striders will lead a gentle jog for approximately 15 minutes around Leamington Spa
16:15: Mayor/Deputy Major speech (Provisional)
16:30: HIIT session
Free HIIT session lead by Wasps rugby stars (FIIT Club).
17:30: Dr Fahmy’s blog live
Dr Fahmy has been keeping our patients up to date with her efforts to become fitter and engagement from patients has been great. She will be doing a live video blog from the practice to keep her readers informed of her progress.
