Current PPG Patient Membership
The PPG consistes of upto 15 members, 12 patient members and upto 3 Practice members. Membership is oipen to all registered paitents of the practice.
The current Patient membership comprises the following people.
Martin Blows (joined 2014, PPG Chair from 2022)
Retired headteacher and school adviser working at local and national levels in school leadership and the use of IT for learning. Post retirement I re-trained as a Hanna Somatics Educator, which helps people relieve pain and restore posture and flexibility. Keen to use my lifetime skills and interests to benefit of the Practice and patients.
Michael Pearson – (joined 2013)
Prior to retirement I was the Area Manager for the Warwickshire Division of the Care Standards Commission responsible for the inspection and registration of all social care facilities which was later amalgamated with the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Following retirement, I chaired the PPG at Clarendon Lodge for many years and still remain a committed member.
Bridget Winn – (joined 2013)
Retired professional with a background in education. I have been involved in a number of PPG projects; writing summaries of the Friends and Family feedback and Newsletter articles about safeguarding our health. As a firm believer in preventative approaches I attended all four of the Practice’s Life-Style Clinics. I am currently part of a project to obtain the views of younger patients.
John Pickering (joined 2013)
I retired from full-time lecturing in Psychology at Warwick University some while ago, but continue to teach and do research there. My family and I have been patients at the Practice since 1975 and I hope being on the PPG will help it to keep working as well as it does.
Gethin Williams (joined 2019)
I am a retired university academic with 35 years research interest in the management of the NHS. Member of a Health Authority for 8 years in the 1980s. Member of the Clarendon Lodge PPG since 2019. Committed representative of the patient stakeholder interest and supporter of NHS staff.
Robin Verso (joined 2020)
Economist and Accountant has worked in private companies, in the voluntary sector and at director level in local government. Extensive experience in governance including NHS and Healthwatch. Key skills are in policy and financial planning, performance management and good governance and he is passionate about efficient and effective public services.
Sandra Grafton (joined 2020)
Julie Taylor (joined 2023)
I’ve been a patient at the practice for 16 years and joined the PPG because I’m keen to support the work of the practice and help to improve the service for patients. I work full time in business management and hope that some of my skills will be helpful to the work of the PPG.
Sarah O’Malley (joined 2023)
I Currently work in a local care home part-time. Previously I worked for the National Childminding Association as an IT Support/Admin Officer. I have been a volunteer for the last 40 years with the British Red Cross and recently as Treasurer for my son’s PTA. I enjoy cross stitching and Gardening.
Caroline Green (joined 2023)
Retired Solicitor with many years’ experience of specialising in the legal affairs of older people including Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection applications. I am particularly interested in the services provided by the Practice to older patients and those dealing with the impact of dementia and chronic conditions.
