Our Flu campaign is now in full swing. Can we remind those who have received a letter to call the practice to make an appointment for your vaccination.
The weather may be mild at the moment but those who are over 65 or have a condition that may result in complications from flu should get a jab as soon as possible.

Dr Green retired from the surgery after more than 30 years service to the practice and her patients. She won’t be short of things to do with a 750 mile sponsored cycle ride from Lands End to Lowestoft planned in aid of Myton Hospice and the Alzheimer’s Society – and husband Martin joining her!!
Dr Fullbrook is now senior partner and we have two new partners, Dr Fahmy and Dr Alsop. Dr Fahmy has been with the practice for some time as a GP Associate and Dr Alsop was a GP Registrar at the practice.

On Line appointments
We appreciate that getting the appointment you want when you want it can sometimes be difficult. Over the last couple of years you have let us know through the GP Patient Survey that, whilst you are really happy with being able to get an appointment on the day, you sometimes face difficulty in booking ahead.
In addition to approximately 30% of our appointments being available to book up to 8 weeks in advance, in October 2009 we introduced extended surgeries on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. These appointments are offered on a book in advance basis only and ideal for those who find it difficult to get to the surgery during business hours.
From the end of December 2010 we will be offering a further way of accessing advance bookable appointment by introducing on line appointments. A number of patients have already expressed an interest in using the facility. In order to benefit from this new way of booking your advanced appointment, please ask a mention of our Reception Team for details on how to set up an account.
As a Primary Care team we recognise that there is no one appointment system that will satisfy every member of our 12,500 patient group but we do hope that you recognise that we have taken and will continue to look at innovative ways of making our system more flexible.
